I loved LW like the brother he was to me; I still love and miss him every day. He was one of the most genuinely good (and bright) people I have ever encountered. I spoke to him almost every day. He learned outstanding life lessons from his #1 hero, his father Big Wayne (as did I, and I still do). He was an exceedingly fine lawyer, sportsman and friend. And dang it if we didn't both love Apocalypse Now Rocky III. I promise to share specific joyful (and humorous) stories at a later date. Cordially, Stephen

THE MEASURE OF A MAN
Author: Anonymous

Not - How did he die? But - How did he live?
Not - What did he gain? But - What did he give?
Was he ever ready with a word of good cheer?
To bring back a smile, to banish a tear?
Not - What was his church? Not - What was his creed?
But - Had he befriended those really in need?
Not - What did the sketch in the newspaper say?
But - How many were sorry when he passed away?
These are the things that measure the worth
Of a man as a man, regardless of birth.

We have all lost a good friend and good man. Waynee, you will be missed.

My heart breaks when I look at your picture. You were such a handsome young man. We always hugged and kissed (and yes, even in the courthouse lobby!!!!) when we saw each other. We were proud to show our love to you in Division "B". All of our hearts are breaking right now. We still cannot believe it is true that you are gone. But, the Lord took you away from this earth and you are now in heaven with him singing his praises. Kenny and I are thinking of and praying for all of your family. We will definitely miss his great smile and enthusiasm about life. He was a good boy!!!! I always rubbed his beautiful curly locks!!!! He was a beautiful person and we will miss him so much. Wayne and Vicki, I cannot stop thinking of how you are handling this. I just cannot imagine how you feel. Just know that we love you very much (and your whole family) and please, allow God to give you the strength to go on. Please pray to him for peace. Wayne B. is with him now and you will see him again. We love you and are praying for all of you constantly. Love you, Karen and Kenny

Life Stories

Uncle Wayne and Aunt Vicki, I will always remember those days when I would babysit your children (my wonderful cousins). Waynee was always smiling and laughing so much that it was hard to be serious with him because he would have me in stiches! He would always love when I would make popcorn or chocolate chip cookies. He would get extremely excited! He was always a pleasure to babysit! He carried these wonderful traits and more throughout his adult life. I am very proud to call him my Cousin and both of you my Uncle and Aunt!
